Social Commitment and Certifications

Food safety is at the heart of Latteria Soligo’s philosophy, which adopts the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) control method to guarantee maximum hygiene in the food sector.

This is a practice based on a systematic, documented approach geared towards prevention, in which the critical control points (CCPs) are identified, before being monitored with reference to fixed critical limits and safety levels using appropriate indicators. This process is followed up by a plan of corrective actions.

The ISO quality certifications (9001:2015 and 22005:2008) are issued by CSQA Certificazioni srl, an Italian body specialised in issuing certifications in the agri-food sector and accredited by Sincert, the National System for the Accreditation of Certification Bodies.

We are also certified as follows: a VERIFIED QUALITY supplier of raw milk and drinking milk; PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) for our Asiago, Casatella Trevigiana and Montasio cheeses; TSG (Traditional Speciality Guaranteed) for our mozzarella; and BIO for our haymilk, stracchino cheese and other products.

The Latteria Soligo: for society.
An essential part of the local area

The Latteria Soligo’s sensitivity and focus on the social sphere derive from the solidarity generated amongst the farmers, who at one time would give each other a staio (bushel) of flour on loan, in the run-up to the harvest. Today, that same solidarity is embodied by numerous businesses, which have one and the same objective: to support each other through good times and bad. The campaigns orchestrated by the Latteria Soligo to assist those affected by the flood in Vicenza (2010) and by the earthquake in Amatrice (2016) are just two examples of this commitment. Listed below are some of the initiatives we have been involved in over recent years.

The Alice Project, supported by the Latteria Soligo, promotes the work of the local violence-prevention centres and support desks, and helps to develop initiatives targeted at disseminating information and raising awareness within schools and communities. Moreover, using a space set aside on our milk packaging, it communicates its main message and the numbers of the centres and support desks, thus entering right into women’s homes.

Another important initiative that the Latteria Soligo puts its weight behind is the “Pollicino” Project, which encompasses a series of activities and micro-actions intended to provide early-years support. Through our sensitivity and solidarity, we hope to make a difference to the long-term development of children, who are, after all, our future.

To get the most out of sports, you need a diet that’s balanced, healthy and rich in nutrition. With the authentic freshness of our products, the Latteria Soligo is a presence at events large and small across the local area, offering visible, palatable signs of the quality of this part of Italy through the natural goodness of the food made here.

The Latteria Soligo is a partner of Udinese Academy, the youth academy of the Udinese football club. What brings us together? A focus on health, from the early years onwards. With our Perfect Products, we make sure that the youngsters stay fit and healthy.

With our products, the Latteria Soligo can rightfully stake its claim to being a supplier of some of the finest ingredients that enable our restaurants to represent the authentic qualities of the local area as effectively as possible. We work with restaurateurs and chefs who are committed to keeping up with the latest consumer tastes. Examples of our commitment include the support we provide to the Cocofungo, Cocoradicchio and Intavolando groups.

Our commitment to being a pro-active part of the local area is also made clear by our involvement in numerous research projects – including the RIBES-Nest network – and our partnerships with the universities of the Veneto region and beyond, always aimed at offering “perfect products”. These are just some examples of our tireless commitment towards research and innovation in the production process, as demonstrated day in, day out by the dairy farmers who are members of the Latteria Soligo co-operative.

Apprenticeships, partnerships in events and guided tours of the cheese-production sites are ongoing initiatives intended to make young people participants in the dairy culture of this area. Working with a number of institutions, we have helped to implement specific projects which chart the Latteria’s almost 140 years of history, and through collaborations with other organisations, we are committed to enabling students to attend international trade fairs. In addition, the Latteria Soligo is a member of the local agri-food foundation – the Fondazione ITS Agroalimentare Veneto – based in Conegliano.

Cultural and artistic events often find in Soligo products – and in our wonderful Prosecco – the ideal ingredients for moments of conviviality, which help to consolidate our presence in the social life of the people in this part of Italy. This explains why the Soligo brand is a fixture of numerous cultural activities held here – one example being the Mazzotti Prize, which serves not only as an opportunity for high-profile visibility but also as a testament to the Latteria’s engagement with the community.
