Why “Superior”
QV (Verified Quality) milk is produced according to a Superior Quality Regime, adhering to stricter rules than national law: for animal welfare, food safety, and environmental protection. The cows are also fed flax seeds, a source of Omega-3.
The process requirements exceed mandatory standards and focus on three aspects:
“Verified Quality” is the quality system established by the Veneto Region (with Regional Law No. 12/2001: “Protection and promotion of quality agricultural and agri-food products”) that qualifies agri-food production. The QV label offers greater guarantees to consumers by ensuring control and traceability throughout the production process.
Those who adhere to the QV label commit to following the rules of the regulations (read them here) and can be excluded in case of non-compliance.
The goals of adhering to the QV label are to improve production quality, protect the environment, ensure animal welfare and health, and provide better information to consumers.
The Cows and the Farms
Control of the production process both on the farm and in the dairy: tracking of feed, cows, and their health status; monitoring of food quality.
Animal welfare is ensured by providing suitable housing conditions (at least 8 square meters of space per cow) and installing fans in the barns.
Cows are also fed flax seeds, rich in polyunsaturated Omega-3 fatty acids.
QV Milk Producers
Milk is not manufactured but milked in barns, where farmers and their families work as guardians of the environment, rural landscapes, and agricultural lands.
Certain environmental choices can only be realized thanks to farmers who care for the land and their animals, also feeding them with crops grown directly on their farms.
